Why Our Partners Choose PRACTICE

What Our Partners Are Saying

Discover how our in-person tutoring programs are making a difference—straight from the schools we support!

“The fact that 57 out of 59 students met the promotional criteria after only a month and a half shows how good PRACTICE is at what they do. I highly recommend their company and will continue partnering with them for future services.”

– Principal Lakesha Williams, P.S. 399

“The intensive tutoring program made all of the difference this past year. By the end of the day, most of our teachers are tired and having Education Champions brought us the additional energy we needed to make the best use of our extended learning time. The Education Champions always engaged with their students productively and were polite to the teaching staff. Students even requested to be in PRACTICE groups for extra tutoring!”

– Principal Abbey Wilson, Fannie Lou Hammer Middle School

“Dennis always showed a high-level of respect for the staff and students at our school. He was trained and learned very quickly how to use the curriculum to
meet the students’ needs and achieve results. He became a valuable resource to both teachers and students…and to the Principal as well.”

– Jocelyn Isaac-Faircloth, Math Coach, PS 53

“Tutors have been great. Students are always engaged and are making progress and improving in the areas of English as a New Language and Algebra.

– Herminia Saldana, School Administrator, Mott Hall High School

“We have worked with PRACTICE for the past few years. We would recommend this program to other schools. We have had success with PRACTICE and their
interventionist tutors.

– Patrick Roberts, Assistant Principal, JHS 216

“I have worked with PRACTICE for over two years. Everyone on the team is knowledgeable, professional and willing to support the school’s academic needs.

– Claudia Rivera, Principal, MS 297

“Mr. Ortiz is an excellent, motivated and natural problem solver. He is still in the
process of training with Haggerty, I-Ready (Magnetic Reading) & Guided Reading programs, but learning quickly and responding well to feedback.

– Nathaniel Colon, School Administrator, PS 45

“I would recommend PRACTICE because the leadership tailors services to the individual needs of a school. It seems no two school Plans are alike because there is a range of offerings from in person to online tutoring as well as interactive platforms to advance student learning and streamline data.

– Brandon Muccino, Principal, PS 83

What Parents Are Saying

See how our on-demand virtual tutoring is transforming learning—straight from the parents who’ve experienced it!

My son has an IEP and Jacob was able to engage, interact, and communicate with him in a presentable manner. My son was receptive to Jacob and his tutoring style. Jacob was able to break down the living environment terminology into simple words and explain it in a manner where my son was able to understand it. My son is also receptive to Jacob since he had Jacob in the past for tutoring. My son is able to understand and get a better sense of living environment because Jacob is able to engage him in a way others cannot. Another great thing about Jacob is that he comes prepared and ready to work with my son. Jacob is enthusiastic about what he does and does not move on until my son understands the material. This in turn will help build my son’s confidence and self-esteem. At the end of the session my son leaves with learning and gaining knowledge about a topic in living Environment. Jacob is an amazing tutor. He is willing to go above and beyond to assist my son either in math or living Environment. My son has an IEP and Jacob understands the needs and challenges of working with a child with a disability. Jacob is able to build a relationship with my son and through that relationship my son is receptive to Jacob and his tutoring style. Me and my son are both grateful to have Jacob as his tutor!

Shak was able to engage my son while exploring World War 1. Shak reviewed the cause and key figures of WWI where he was able to capture my son’s attention and get him to participate. Which I am glad Shak was able to do because my son is shy and does not warm up to people he doesn’t know easily. Despite my son having an IEP Shak was able to support him and understood his needs.

Having Weifeng as my daughter’s tutor on a consistent basis makes a huge difference in her ELA performance. My daughter has moved on from writing an introduction paragraph to step two, the body. Despite facing some challenges in the body paragraph, Weifeng is there to guide her and to help her understand how to formulate the body paragraph. With patience, guidance, and support from Weifeng I am confident my daughter will be able to complete the body paragraph and move on to step 3, the conclusion paragraph.

I liked that the tutor knew how to respond to my child who is only 5 years old. She was nice and playful while being helpful. My child responded well to her.
