Anyone referred during the campaign period, including the last minute of the last day will have 30 days to commit to a program for the referral to be honored.
We are currently focused on programming and partnering with schools in NYC. Referrals outside of NYC are not eligible for this program at this time.
We will notify you that the person referred is an existing partner. Unfortunately, they will not count as a referral.
Unfortunately, the referral only applies to new partners. However, if a school is a former partner but there has been a change in leadership, they would count as a new referral and you both be eligible for the referral.
For them to count as an active referral, they must commit to partnering within 30 days of the referral.
We will give the credit to the person who makes the referral first.
Within two weeks of a confirmed partnership, we’ll make the donation to the charity of your choice and the charity that your referee chooses. The donation will be made in your honor and an acknowledgement will be sent to the address you supply.
As long as they are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a current Tax ID #.
If it is a well known charity, then you can google the name of the charity with the words “Tax ID #” added onto it and the first few searches should pull it up. The Tax ID # is usually two digits followed by a “-” and then seven others: ##-#######
It’s not uncommon to reach out to an organization and ask them for their Tax ID # before making a donation. At a religious institution, it is typically the head of the organization. For non-religious institutions, it may be the executive director, someone on the donor relations or finance team.
No! Anyone can make a referral. However, the referee must be a principal or assistant principal with the ability to partner with our organization.
Not at all. We have different partnerships with different schools. Some schools partner with us to get culturally responsive curriculum, others collaborate on parent outreach programming. We have a variety of different ways in which we partner with schools and all of them are eligible for our referral.
